Philosophy — The why of real estate weblogging
Despite what you might read — or might even conclude from reading here — there is no one right way of producing a real estate weblog. Some rules — for example, “Don’t steal copyrighted material” — everyone can agree on. Others are simply other peoples’ opinions — and what works for them may not work for you. In the book we’re going to take up a lot of weblogging ideas. If some of them resonate with you, that’s great. If others don’t, that’s great, too. A weblog is a relationship — with your readers, with other weblogs, with the the world. But before all that, your weblog is your relationship with your own past self. If it doesn’t make you happy, do something different — or do something else that does.

I agree. You shouldn’t make a blog or comment on a blog without being satisfied with the submitted material.

I believe a good blog, if its about real estate; should have some great pictures. Pictures can tell a thousand words. It lets people really see whats going on.

A couple of my buddies say to keep your blog completely focused on real estate. I’m of the thought that every once in a while you should throw in a post or two about something persona so the readers get to know the real you, and form a deeper bond.

Yes, it’s about real estate, but it’s also about lifestyle and living, because that’s part of real estate. I think you need to cover your area as well, and certainly to share part of yourself.
